Or you can rent each disc individually:
"Children Of Dune" is an award winning mini-series produced by the SciFi Channel. Before you rent this DVD please consider two things:
1. It's a continuation of the Dune Series and in fact encompasses the second and third books. If you're not familiar with the "Dune" story, or not even seen the original "Dune" movie (or the SciFi Channel Miniseries) then this is not a good place to start!
2. It's a Miniseries. Total running time around 6 hours. This is not a quick-fix SciFi Movie! Personally I love the extended plots and characters you can fit into something of this scope but again it's not for everyone.
He who controls Arrakis (the planet Dune) controls the Universe, for the giant Sand Worms that live there produce the Spice, Melange, which allows the Guild of Navigators to pilot the vast depths of the Universe. Where this story kicks off Paul Atreides, heir to the Atreides royal family has defeated the Harkonnens and the old Emperor and now controls the Spice (and therefore the Universe). In fact the Spice and his Bene-Gesserit (a female witch-cult) Mother have changed him. He's now called Mua'Dib and is living a prophecy he can not escape...
Start with Dune then watch this. If you like Epic SciFi you'll love Dune.
If you had never heard of Dune you may find this hard to follow. This film is probably best followed if you have already read the Dune books.
However, I enjoyed the film as I knew what to expect and could fill in all the background history.
