Fine acting and a surprising climactic revelation are the main virtues of this beautifully photographed film noir from John Bailey, whose brilliant work as cinematographer includes Cat People, Silverado, Mishima and As Good As It Gets. The typical genre storyline sees detective Ed Harris and abused wife Madeleine Stowe succumb to passion in Florida, but although the main plot adds nothing new, there are enough original touches (Harris is much smarter than your average film noir sucker) and tasty performances to sustain interest.

    • Radio Times
  • "...The well-developed characters, with whom the audience feels an immediate, emphatic connection, are distinctly pungent, the way they were in noir thrillers of the 1940s..."

good murder/thriller mystery with a twist

The usual 'hitchcock style' pre-planned murder set up. Very watchable but seems to rain a lot!
