Delicious beyond words

Christmas In August is one of the most wonderful films i've had had the pleasure of watching. The story unfolds beautifully and the chemistry between the two leads in particular is sensational. Whilst not having the expensive set design of Wong Kar wai, the direction is wonderful, with each shot framed in the most exquisite and considered fashion. It's been a long time since a film has moved me this much, probably since In The Mood For Love - and as such Christmas In August is one of those films that's become so personal it's now a part of me - and contains some of my favourite moments in cinema. Recommended with the utmost distinction for anyone who believe in love and cherishes cinema that moves them thusly. An absolute gem.- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer , 21 Sep 2011Incredibly slow, we gave up after about 30 minutes. There was minimal dialogue during that 30 mins and much time was devoted to looking at the main actor's rather expressionless face. Beautiful
By cutetwirler (8 reviews) from Liverpool , 24 Feb 2009A great movie, a sad love story. A little slow in places and definitely not for those who want action packed or complicated movies. It was made in the 90's so you can see a very basic Korea, with little American influence.
