Downton delivers!
By Presents (1 review) , 03 Oct 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
The Christmas Special was everything it promised to be - fun, exciting, touching and sad at the same time. Christmas is never whole without the climaxing of family tensions, dilemmas, revelations and hopes - and all the cast in Downton Abbey delivered this present and my family and I loved it. Really enjoyable and satisfying to watch.- Was this review helpful to you?

(9)Should not be missed...
By MumOnTheMove (4 reviews) from Durham , 22 May 2013... especially if you're going to watch any additional Downton series. If you've enjoyed series 1 and 2 up to this point, this additional extra-long episode is definitely worth watching. It does add some significant plot elements to the show, so be sure to see it before going on to Series 3.- Was this review helpful to you?

Downton Christmas Gold
By Panna (49 reviews) from Gloucestershire , 14 Mar 2013This is not a one off, but a continuation of the running saga that is Downton, with another short story line thrown in for good measure. It was an absolute pleasure to watch. The handling of the movement through history which is reflected in the ladies clothes is very well done. I studied the history of design many years ago and to my amateur eye, they seem to have got it spot on. This is the sort of programme that one can have on in the background whilst ironing, but it actually deserves to be watched for the beautiful camera work. Not only that, but you would miss the marvellous facial contortions of the golden Maggie Smith. This whole series is just an absolute gem and I suspect I will be purchasing it in due course, as it is one of those experiences like The Forsyte Saga that deserves return viewing.- Was this review helpful to you?
