[Highly rated reviewer]A fascinating insight into the Berlin years of Christopher Isherwood, and the world that was to be lost forever. Great script wonderful acting from the cast with special mention for Lindsay Duncan's portrayal as Mrs Isherwood senior. For anyone with an interest in this period of history or knows the work of Isherwood this a film that MUST NOT BE MISSED.

Absolutely ghastlyBy papatez (298 reviews) from folkestone , 21 May 2013A lavish production with a stella cast that turned out a movie worthy of a local amateur dramatic society. Matt Smith does his best to put some life into a poorly written script that has him over-camping every line that he utters. It just lacks any kind of conviction.

Matt Smith wasnwonderfully differnt from his other projects.

pleasant enoughBy a customer from OXON , 26 Aug 2011To be honest, I watched this more for the historical context than the plot. It's an OK film but it doesn't really shine

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideThis is an excellent adaptation. Matt Smith in particular is a fantastic bit of casting and he is absolutely brilliant in it. Lots of lovely gay sex scenes as well. Completely compelling.
Rent Rent RentBy mrbond62 (38 reviews) from Cambridge , 19 Jun 2011If i'm honest I only rented the film out for Matt Smith (Dr Who).
Was really impressed with how well written the film was. The cast were brillant to watch and the film moved to a good pace.
