All I can say about this game is that it is one of the BEST I have ever played! Playing as a boy from 1000 ad in a parrallel universe, you have to traverse time from the begining of time to the end. It may sound a bit cheesy but putting it in with a plot that will have you on the edge of your seet for days on end deffinetly isn't. If you have a DS, no wait, if you are alive rent this. It will be one of the best experiences of your life.

  • A dated classic

Chrono Trigger is one of the most acclaimed and beloved games of all time, and frequently tops best game lists. And I can only agree - for its time, the game was phenomenal, with its wonderful soundtrack and story, and great gameplay features (you could open curtains in houses - that was a BIG deal back then, silly as it may sound). The question is, how does it hold up today? Well... not so well as you may think. This DS version is probably the best way to experience this classic, but by today's standards, Chrono Trigger is not perfect. It's long and somewhat difficult, it's not always clear what to do or where to go, and the story is quite convulted. So don't expect too much from this game, keep in mind it first came out in 1995. In short, Chrono Trigger is a classic. Its design, music, art style, sound and graphics are all wonderful, and though it may have probably been one of the best games made to date back in the day, it's not without minor flaws today. If you are interested in this game, I would definitely recommend it, but if you are too used to newer, less 'hardcore' games, you probably wouldn't get it.

Found it quite awkward to move around - possibly because the rental cart doesn't come with the instruction booklet. Tried it but couldn't get into it despite having heard excellent reviews.

Chrono Trigger I have finally played it , and now am kicking myself for waiting so long. This Fantastic Lil huge game :) is everything you can want in game not just a JRPG or RPG . Superb story with Love , Sadness, Joy, Laughter, Thought Provoking , and most importantly great characters and villains.

I loved Final Fantasy VII but hated The random battles, normally associated with these older JRPG games, but guess what? no random battles in this little gem.Yeah but your thinking a hate all this levelling up and hit point rubbish , but its not on a home console its on your hand-held DS , so you can build up your characters any time any where , Work breaks , school or college or uni breaks , public transport ( make sure you don't miss your stop ;) ) Please please not while your driving ! lol . But you get my point hopefully.

And for people who already played Chrono on the Super Nintendo ' Mention the music you cry '

This wonderful game has some of the most beautifully created in game music ever, not to mention some of the catchiest. Also the graphic artists have done a mind blowing job of creating your very varied worlds down to the minute detail.

So Time Travelling on your hand held, multiple different endings, new missions and cut scenes for the DS , And a small task of saving the world. What more can you want!

Try It Then you'll buy IT

I was a bit sceptical about the game at first: yes, it is one of the best rated games ever, but many classic games have lost their charm when ported onto the latest consoles. Fortunately, this is not the case with Chrono Trigger: the graphics may be a bit dated to say the least, but the great story makes up for the visuals.

Chrono Trigger is an RPG with ATB battle system (much like FFVII: a slightly faster turn-based battle). The story concentrates on the boy Crono and his adventures through time, and this is definitely the strongest point of the game. It's been a long time since I got so interested in the plot of a game that I couldn't wait what happens next. The game itself is relatively easy which is a good thing because you don't have to spend much time levelling your characters to face the boss, and can continue with the story.

I would strongly recommend Chrono Trigger, provided that you are not put off by the 'retro' graphics.
