12:01PM
By Phil from Cardiff , 05 Oct 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
I hired this for one reason - 12:01PM - a short film I must have seen one night in childhood and have never been able to find since. There was a remake or something done later into a full film, which was so-so but this one has a much darker tone.
Haven't watched the rest of the DVD to be honest as I only rented it for that one.- Was this review helpful to you?

(6)12:01 PM and A Hard Rain
By Isofarro (4 reviews) from Surrey, UK , 21 Jun 2010Kurtwood Smith is overly dramatic in 12:01 PM. Best known for the role of Clarence Boddicker in Robocop, it's remarkable to see him pull of the role of a strictly routine business man slowly being driven to insanity by reliving the same hour over and over. Interesting, but clearly dated.
A Hard Rain stars John Mahoney (Frasier Crane's dad) as a father trying to deal with the murder of his son by a man currently on bail and traumatising his wife. Decent.- Was this review helpful to you?

12:01
By a customer from Surrey, England , 03 Dec 2006I too rented this just for the presence of '12:01' - a short film that I first saw on Channel 4 some time in the mid 90s.
There are eight short films in all. besides 12:01, two are fairly interesting. The others feel like low-budget dramas and one or two are almost painful to watch.
However, this disc deserves 5 stars simply becuase the presence of 12:01 makes it a 'must rent'. Imagine 'groundhog hour' - a man stuck in the never-ending repetition of one hour, completely powerless to escape. Very dark and whilst having a slight 'b-movie' feel to it, it's truly engrossing.- Was this review helpful to you?

12:01 p.m. exceptional
By Carl Barton from Bradford, England , 02 Dec 2006the short film 12:01 p.m is a much truer adaptation of the richard lupoff story than the film 12:01, or groundhog day.
More realistic, a real tour de force. I agree everything else on this disc is complete rubbish.- Was this review helpful to you?
