My favourite foreign filmBy a customer from Manchester, UK , 13 Mar 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]This has to be my favourite foreign film of all time, however, that refers to the director's cut rather than the shorter original release.
It was the director's cut I saw at the cinema first, and it was that version of the film I love. I feel the original shorter release of the film has too much cut out to complete the story.
If you like this film and haven't seen the director's cut, I strongly recommend you get your hands on a copy.

Absolutely charmingBy StoryeBook (31 reviews) , 20 Nov 2013I loved this - such a happy film and such a sweet childhood for the little boy who appears to have no dad. All the town characters are unforgettable. I laughed and cried.
A memorable & compelling filmBy a customer , 04 Nov 2013Understandably an instant classic. Beautifully crafted, compelling narrative, a homage to a changing landscape, a nod to Visconti, wonderful mood music, a triumph.
Superb FilmBy Erasedcitizen (20 reviews) , 04 Oct 2013The film Cinema Paradiso is superb. Something different but a beautifully, heartwarming film about friendship and coming-of-age. Loved it and a must watch for any movie lover.
Hauntingly BeautifulBy SUNMORE (2 reviews) , 30 Aug 2013I can never get enough of watching this beautifully made film of the coming of age of a boy in Rural Italy Post WWII. Brilliant acting and directing, the film cannot be fully appreciated until you see the Directors Cut Version. This is a love story beautifully played out over time that will tug at your heartstrings and I challenge you not to shed a tear(s) whilst watching it. There are numerous hauntingly memorable denouements and scenes and the fantastic, rather nostalgic ending with a brilliant scene which if described would take away the beauty of it. A MUST WATCH MOVIE!
