Fantastique!By Daffydwal (1 review) from Swansea , 18 Jun 2005
[Highly rated reviewer]I went to see this show at its permanent location in orlando, and while the DVD doesn't come close to the nail-biting experience of actually being there, it still captures the enormous and spectacular display of skill, precision and art that is La Nouba... Cirque du Soliel at its finest.

La NoubaBy Surbian (2 reviews) from Chelmsford , 16 Apr 2010I am a great fan of Cirque Du Soleil, but I was a little disappointed with this DVD release. Because there is so much going on on stage, it is very difficult to follow all the action, without chopping and changing the view constantly and the whole DVD experience feels rather disjointed and a bit disorientating! I feel this particular show would probably be best viewed as a 'live' performance, so that you can choose for yourself which action to follow and so that you have a chance to take everything in and view it as a complete spectacle, which it undoubtedly is! Like with any Cirque Du Soleil show, the acts themselves are just amazing!! A perfect mixture of movement, dance, music and theatre - beautiful to watch!!

Great!By Ouch (218 reviews) from London , 14 Oct 2008I wouldn't say this is one of the best of the shows that Cirque Du Soleil have done...this is the only one of the shows on dvd that is a permanent location...there's something extra in the shows that travel I think but I can't put my finger on what it is!!!
It's still spectacular though as always and has some briliiant moments...this show seems to be a mish mash of themes and acts wheras the other shows such as Varakei, Alegria and Dralion are much more themed...
I really enjoyed the music in this one too, and the vocalist who sings over the music had a fantastic voice which was nice.
The tumbling at the end is by far the best act and is very very cool!!
I'd recommend ANY of the Cirque Du Soleil dvd's. Get some popcorn and some wine, turn up the sound and enjoy!
Fantastic show, perfectly captured.By lyndseyb (3 reviews) from Helston , 09 Apr 2008FANTASTIC!
Having seen the show live in America, I was unsure that they could capture it fully on DVD.
Well, they have - every detail has been included (there is often much going on at one time). And for those moments where you can't quite beleive your eyes, they have had the foresight to replay them in slow-motion.
This show is simply beautiful and whilst seeing it in person is unbeatable, the DVD does come a close second.
They have use so many cameras here - every angle is covered and every perspective - including from above and below the stage.
As far as I'm concerned, this DVD has acheived everything it can in capturing this unique production. Unlike watching a film after you've read the book, this really holds no disappointments and I would recommend this DVD as a happy return to the show for anyone who's seen it live and as a close second best to anyone who hasn't or won't have the lucky privelige.
Ooh - if you love this DVD, it's also worth adding the addtional bonus disc to your list - it's not jam-packed, but it does offer interesting interviews and a great insight into the show's music.
