I didn't know what to expect from this film but I was pleasantly surprised. The story is simple but fairly clever.

An easy to watch tear jerker that I can recommend.

A lovely and moving film filled with emotion. Well acted and apart from a couple of rather corny scenes the viewer can be drawn into the story.

  • ANGELS ARE CLOSER THAN YOU THINK???

Angels, you don't think of Nicolas Cage as an angel??? But amazingly he's a fantastic angel. This movie is deeply moving and keeps you going throughout right until the sad end. That uplifts surprisingly right at the last moment. Meg Ryan is always captivating in her emotional roles, and this movie reminds me of when she starred in The Doors movie, with her whimsical smile and her ever beautiful eyes. One definately to watch. x x x

Horrid, sappy, cheesy & unnecessary Hollywood remake of Wim Wender's Wings of Desire. There are films that should not be touched to be remade. This is one of them. Avoid it.

  • I enjoyed the music but...................

Ok, I only watched this because I love the song Iris (Goo Goo Dolls) and numerous people told me that it comes from this film and that the film is worth watching. Well I agree that the song comes from the film but not that the film is worth watching (the song was the best bit).

I am a bit of a romantic (I own two different versions of the 'cinderella story) but this film really did nothing for me. Meg Ryan was entirely unbelievable as a heart surgeon and I know you have to suspend disbelief in a lot of romantic films but she is in a serious relationship (with another surgeon) but she falls in love with some cold fish of a bloke that just appears in the hospital one day. Ridiculous - Nic Cage's character had no personality and just seemed creepy to me. And, no, the ending didn't make me cry - or even think 'that's a shame'. All very silly and definitely not worth watching.
