Excellent documentary charting the rise and rise of Bat Out of Hell.
See bits of interviews you haven't seen before, and also hear parts of the album that you have never heard before. Find out what never made it on to the album and which song was only written at the eleventh hour.
Being a musician myself I love the 'Classic Albums' series. Remembering seeing Stevie Wonder talk about his 'Songs In The Key...' and Phil Collins talk about his marvelous 'Face Value'. So it was with great interrest that I found this one.
I really didn't have any connection with Meat Loaf, always thought he was portraying a strange image and his music had a wierd sound that didn't really appeal to me. It was almost emberrasing to watch the big man sing out these strangly mythical and fairy-tale-like lyrics.
When I sat down and watched this DVD I must say I was greatly intreagued and found it really interresting to hear Meat talk about how this unusual album came about.
If you like hearing people elaborate about music history in the making, then this series is great and 'Classic Albums - Meat Loaf (Bat Out Of Hell) is no exception. I pass on my warm recommendations.
