i missed a lot of these when they were originally broadcast & although a bit dated now they are still top quality entertainment with strong characters & good storylines

I'd forgotten how funny it is

Excellent MINDER. Laugh at the tight fisted Arthur Daley and ex boxer Terry trying to go straight but Arthur always gets him into trouble.

Kids liked it too even if its just to see the old cars etc. !!!

    Class Act

There’s not much to add in a review – you either don’t like Minder or you do. Take your choice – watch non entities eating bugs on live TV or watch this, dusted down from the vaults of televisual history from an era when they used to do telly properly.

The inimitable Cole and Waterman form one of the great double acts in the series that kicked off in 1979 and provided a perfect epitaph for Thatcherite Britain. Minder can be enjoyed for its social anthropological qualities or more mundanely for the quality of characterisation and writing.

Take this gem of dialogue between Arthur and another pillar of the business establishment. “How’s the missus?”, “Diamond”, “She’s a jewel”, “No, she’s harder than flint”.

    Superb

I lived and worked around East/South London at the time this series was being screened and I can tell you it captures the atmosphere of the time perfectly. It's a real snapshot of the South London of history. In my opinion Dennis Waterman at his best, far superior to his often awkward character portrayal of Sgt Carter in the Sweeney. If you've never seen Minder, (you must have been on the moon for the last twenty years, or at least not have Sky) rent this, sit back and enjoy.

    Dated... but seldom bettered

For those who are too young to have caught this British Classic first time round, don't miss this chance to rent / buy a slice of nostalgia. (Is it really 25 years ??) I'll leave the plots to others, or google for synopsis, but the characters are all loveable, even Chisolm, the copper hell-bent on taking Terry and Arthur down. Set in the days when your fists were the only weapons you went equipped with, honour amongst thieves still existed and DVD copying was something Arthur could only dream about, these were the the Trotters with attitude. ITV - what happened ?

Awesome - classic ford capris and flares.

us mid thirty somethings do go on,and perhaps at times we like to be nostalgic about shows like this.

But with Minder its different - it really is SUPEB viewing - and, please - the intro alone is the best ever!! Dennis water man and his backing band singing 'i could be so good for you!'

Absolute bliss - i was mildly astonished at seeing this after so many years and am once again hooked.

    Classic TV

What can one say about classic tv like this 'Arfur' & 'Terry' in wondrous dealings that never seem to age as time goes by.

    Nostalgia at it`s best!

    Absolute treat.

Could watch Terry `n` Arthur for ever.

One of the very best series ever, and each episode seems to improve on the latter.
