This DVD of Monteverdi has beautiful music ,wonderful singing and a colourful background, Each part of the music is explained which is a help to those of us less famililar with this style of singing. Not for everyone, but to lovers of Monteverdi a real delight.- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer from Bristol , 09 Sep 2008This DVD is hampered by poor editing and production - the voices are wonderful, but the lip synching is better on YouTube. Rooley is great at reproducing the style and directing the music - but, a presenter he isn't (Simon Russel-Beale's job is safe).
