Classic Cult Comedy

The first of the Kevin Smith movies (followed by Mallrats, Chasing Amy etc) it was understandably low budget (hence the black and white) but that should not take away from what is a brillant script and the introduction of Jay and Silent Bob into the world.
Basic plot: The things that happen to a convenience store clerk on the day that he's not even meant to be there.
Not one for the kiddies (rather adult humour in it) but quick whitty script will make it thoughly enjoyable for anyone who has ever worked in customer service.- Was this review helpful to you?

The beginnings of Smith & Maybe the best 27k movie ever
By a customer , 03 May 2013Watch it if : You like Kevin Smiths other films yet haven't seen this as the same techniques and concepts are played out more than once in later movies. Also, watch for the hell of it, you might enjoy it Don't Watch it if : You don't like Indie, you don't like his other stuff either, you love a rom-com with Matthew Mc or Jennifer A.- Was this review helpful to you?

Don't waste your time
By a customer , 28 Jan 2013The acting is so stilted as to put you off. If you want to believe in a movie don't watch this. It appears the actors have been introduced to the script a few seconds before filming, they may have well been reading an autocue. To be fair I only endured the first 45 minutes so it may have improved as it went on. But if you want to sit through 45 minutes of painful acting then this is for you.- Was this review helpful to you?

Brilliant Debut Comedy from Kevin Smith
By Franco72 (45 reviews) , 24 Jan 2013This movie is simple in it's plot as it charts the day in the life of a store clerk, however his day moves from one set piece to the next. This movie is really funny as long as you've a broad sense of humour and you don't mind a bit of foul language. As you would expect from Kevin Smith the dialogue is slick and the laugh out loud moments are frequent - ad to this the introduction of Jay and Silent Bob and you've got a classic low budget debut - miss this at your peril- Was this review helpful to you?

Avoid like the plague!
