Oldies are the bestBy suelyn from cheshire , 26 Feb 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]The first of its type and still holding its own. Not having watched this film in a lot of years I thought maybe I had remembered it through rose tinted glasses. However I was not disappointed. A thoroughly enjoyable film!

Shame about the remakeBy a customer from Bacup , 08 Feb 2008This 'Director's Cut' removes some of the original scenes from the movie which were (in context) believable and full of pathos. The added scenes do nothing for the story (exept for the aeroplanes maybe) and are quite ridiculous. The closing scenes remove all of the imaginings with which the original production leaves the viewer.
As expected 2nd time around !By Digger (7 reviews) from Dunstable , 06 Feb 2008This film really does not need a review. Everybody saw it when first out I am sure and the second time is just as good - in fact you notice more things about it. Excellent.
old school clasicBy a customer from wales , 23 Apr 2007i found it fantastic to see a film, that i had last seen when i was a child, you will not be disapointed rent this A******
Spielberg at his best!By a customer from London , 16 Jan 2007I had never seen this film before but after the first 5 minutes, I was reminded why I love Spielberg films. You can clearly see where some of the ET scenes took their inspiration from, and Richard Dreyfus and Francois Truffaut were great. This film doesn't date and I would watch it again. You also can't get the tune out of your head!
IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE?.By a customer from HARTLEPOOL UK , 11 Nov 2006MIGHT BE AN OLD FILM BUT STILL WORTH A LOOK.
