  A new teaser for the forthcoming monster-based thriller Cloverfield has been placed online. The clip, posted on Empire Online's website, features an introduction by the film's producer JJ Abrams and some hints at what the movie will be like. Mystery originally surrounded the film, with nobody knowing what it was, what it was about or where it was set.   The party crasher from Hell, the monster at the heart of Cloverfield doesn't have a name. He might be the son of The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms, or second cousin to Godzilla.   New York handy-cam monster mash Cloverfield rampaged to the top of the UK box office chart this week, according to official figures from Nielsen. The film, which follows a group of friends as they desperately struggle though downtown Manhattan in the midst of an alien attack, took £3,485,956 in its opening weekend.   With a closely guarded plot and mysterious marketing campaign, the makers of new movie Cloverfield seemed to do a good job of making sure the film had maximum impact during its opening weekend. Cloverfield took some $41 million (£21 million) in box office receipts over the past three days in the US, as audiences raced to see what kind of monster movie it really was.   Comedian John Krasinski is preparing to don tights and suit up as Captain America after signing up to audition for the superhero role.
