superb.........By williamsgwynfa (627 reviews) from gwaenysgor , 01 Mar 2007
[Highly rated reviewer]this dvd is superb. it is about a sports story based around a group of kids overcoming seemingly insummountable odds.
The fact that most of the events are relatively true, makes it all the more interesting.
Samuel L. Jackson's acting is superb as always, with a very good supporting cast.
The basketball playing scenes are as realistic as you would see, in any high school game across the country.
well worth renting out.

All AmericanBy a customer from Burton-on-Trent , 18 Nov 2008This is an all American all typical film about a basketball coach whose team is the worst in the league until he comes along using his own techniques to help them win. Not bad if you don't like typical American films

Great MovieBy Tunde from West Sussex, UK , 15 Oct 2008Samuel L Jackson gives a great performance in his role as the motivational coach Carter. Apart from being entertaining the movie demonstrates what individuals can achieve regardless of their environment.
Good movie with a strong message.By OriginalGooner (53 reviews) from London , 07 Sep 2008Sporting drama based on a true story. Samuel L. Jackson plays Coach Carter, who takes on the job of coaching unruly inner city high school basketball team the Richmond Oilers, who only won four games in the whole of the previous season. By gaining their respect, teaching them the importance of discipline and instilling in them the values of teamwork and respect for authority, he crafts them into a team that becomes the best high school basketball team in the region, going through the whole of the season unbeaten. But when members of the team start slipping behind on their academic grades and classroom attendance, he suspends the whole team, causing a scandal that attracts local media attention. A film with a strong message about the importance of education and another excellent performance from Samuel L. Jackson as the Coach Carter of the title. The film also has good performances from the young men playing the members of the Richmond Oilers team and a favourable turn from R&B singer Ashanti as the pregnant girlfriend of one of the teams members. Although the film was a touch melodramatic at moments I still found this to be a film that interested and held my attention throughout, despite the fact that the film was almost two and a half hours long. A good movie.
Feel Good FilmBy Kernowolf (80 reviews) from St. Austell , 12 Aug 2008Samuel L Jackson once again delivers! This is a good film but there is a slight level of cheese to the plot and ending - but overall it's well worth a watch
