Cockles And Muscles

During a balmy summer holiday, Marc (Gilbert Melki) takes his wife Beatrix, (Valeria Bruni Tedeschi) together with their two children, Laura and Charly, to the seaside house of his youth. Unbeknown to Marc, a series of events, confused with love and sexual identity, is about to unravel. His nineteen-year-old Laura, embarks on a rendezvous with her biker-boyfriend, which lands them in Spain, while his son Charly, 17, spends all his time exploring new places with his best friend, Martin. Beatrix senses that Charly and Martin are more than just the best of friends and that in actual fact, her son is gay. Although upset by the very prospect of having a gay son, Marc has greater complications to deal with when his old flame suddenly turns up at the same time as Mathieu, his wife's lover. Passions and desires reach boiling point and finally erupt in this comedy of chaos.

    Lovely Little French Farce

Mum & Dad, Marc & Beatrix, think their son Charly is gay and is sleeping with his best friend Martin and they are very cool about it all. The gorgeous Martin does have feelings for Charly but it is not recipprocated. However, Charly's curiosity nearly lands him in bed with a plumber, who's been around the block a few times, but Charly manages to hold onto his cherry! The next day, the holiday home needs some plumbing work, while they are all staying there one summer, so who does Charly call - you've guessed it! Turns out that the plumber is an old flame of Charly's father from his teenage years and before he decided it was easier to go 'straight' and got married to Beatrix. The appearance of the plumber stirs up suppressed feelings in Marc's groins. As it happens, his wife has been getting her own plumbing sorted out by a weird little balding man, that looks like he has just crawled out of the gutter -no accounting for taste there then! All in all, a lovely little French farce with a happy ending, that'll make you smile.

    Good French farce

Usual thing that you'd expect from a French farce. The acting is a little hammy, a seaside setting and a few misunderstandings all merge to make an enjoyable, if light, film
