It would be difficult to write a review for this or any other Paul TT Easter effort without it coming off as a personal attack, but Paul likes to maintain various social networking pages, which means like any other director, be it a first timer or Steven Spielberg, he is open to the same amount of criticism, particularly as he chooses these mediums to directly discuss the films he produces, or promote the fact he duped someone else into buying another release made for less than a few hundred quid.
If you have been added by Paul on Facebook you will note that he quite often likes to come across as fighting for indie filmmaking, but nothing in COLLATERAL CONSEQUENCES says that Paul understands even the most basic of indie filmmaking elements.
Being able to produce a film in 3 days from start to finish one of his claims - is not a good thing if the end result is this. It certainly doesnt help any indie filmmakers releasing very poor films with zero effort by any of the cast or production crew. Literally it will put people off indies!!
As has been said there are much better videos on YouTube, these Paul TT Easter releases arent even films, i. e. they dont even follow basic storylines. That isnt controversial, its just bad filmmaking. I dont accept these films make a profit as quite often suggested on Facebook how could they not if they are made so cheaply?
This film, like any other Easter film, is pathetic NOT controversial. I hope Paul realises he needs to get a real budget in place and write a proper script before he even thinks about making another feature. Slowly but surely, releases that are this bad will seriously hurt indie filmmakers.
The future of indie filmmaking is not films made for a few hundred pounds, that is a fact, and not all indies / investors lose money, that is another fact, so there is no reason to put so little effort into a release.
None of the positive reviews for this title are genuine, it's very easy to see once you've seen something that is in every positive review.
EDIT: My review has landed on social networking sites, posted by the filmmaker which is pretty funny. Sour grapes? NO, not in the slightest. Concerned about the future of independent filmmaking if releases such as this continue to be sold to an unsuspecting public? Yes. Even with a few hundred pounds surely you could do much better? They might still look cheap, but can't you put more time into the story, script, editing, directing, etc. It isn't a race, make one good film rather than 4 bad ones!
This is Paul and his mate driving around in old crap cars. That's it. There is no story to speak of hence impossible to give a real critique of the film.
The problem is if one person rents this they might never rent another indie again and all so one filmmaker can say his films always make money.
Not sure how you think you've wound me up? This isn't a personal attack, it's a request for you to spend more time making a better end result for the future success of the indie film industry, even if you only have a few hundred pounds for the budget, just try harder.
