Or you can rent each disc individually:
I gave this a viewing on TV first time round. I saw it was written by Anthony Horowitz who comes with a good pedigree, although IMHO he has yet to recapture the brilliance of Robin of Sherwood.
So, what's Collision about, then? It's about the events in peoples' lives that brought them to be in the same place at the same time, the Collision; it's the programme title and therefore not really a spoiler and finally through a tired plot mechanism, the police investigation to ascertain the why's and wherefore's. You've got a collection of stereotype characters who are wholly unconvincing.
Sadly, if you're having diffculty getting a plot point over, get the characters to talk about it. That's just lazy.
I suppose, the only thing that did seem authentic was that the crash investigation officers do just that. If they uncover other crimes within that, they hand them on to other parts of the Met.
Clearly, the budget didn't stretch to decent motors, because all the cars in the crash were really old. I'm not really convinced that the crash actually happend on the A12. The location just looked wrong. And then, to cap it all, probably due a) to the cost in staging the collision and b) due to the lack of decent programme content, we keep seeing the accident. This story could be told in a maximum of 3 episodes..
Anyway, a word to the wise if you've got this far in the review. Get it free on ITV Player if possible. Also, you know damned well that because of the parlous state of ITV finances, the whole thing will be shown again- at least once! So, don't bother to buy it and I wouldn't waste a rental on it.
