Most helpful review
Decent if not groundbreaking
By Tom from Dorset , 29 Dec 2010[Highly rated reviewer]
The plot of this one off show is about a father relationship with his thirty something spoilt son who goes into massive amount of debt. The dad played by David Jason ends up trying to help him out. the story is basic but with some good acting helps it along. Worth a rent but don't expect anything original.- Was this review helpful to you?

(6)Very Flimsy
By a customer , 11 Sep 2011Great performances from some well known and well loved actors. Storyline bit flimsy.
Not quite sure why this film was brought out on DVD rather than being televised.- Was this review helpful to you?

Not as good as I thought it would be
By crispin40 (553 reviews) from Stirling, Scotland , 15 Jun 2011Not as good as I had expected, considering the cast. Maybe David Jason is better at playing Frost and shouldn't try one off dramas.- Was this review helpful to you?

More rain than shine
By a customer from England , 14 Jun 2011Dull with no ending. A shame such good actors weren't given a better script to work with.- Was this review helpful to you?

Great acting, predictable plot but enjoyable story nevertheless
By Aubergine (22 reviews) from St. Ives , 24 May 2011A little predictable as far as plots go -working class mother and father with hearts of gold and a spoilt brat of a son, whose greed and ambition causes disaster. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this DVD and with David Jason and Alison Steadman as mother and father, the acting was very good indeed -no surprise there!- Was this review helpful to you?

Really enjoyed this
By a customer from Gtr Manchester , 22 Feb 2011Took a chance on this title, as I like most things that David Jason appears in - and he didn't let me down.
Really well cast, and an almost totally believable picture of the trials and tribulations of family life. Just one or two bits where time-lines didn't seem to fit quite right, but other than that a brilliant film. Not too heavy, but certainly not comedy either - a great balance of moods throughout.- Was this review helpful to you?
