Documentary series from film maker Chris Terrill ('HMS Brilliant', 'Shipmates') as he follows a group of young Royal Marine recruits embarking on an intense and life-changing journey to become a Commando. With unprecedented access to both the training and battle ground, this series captures the exhilaration, excitement and fear of Troop 924 as they prepare for war and the killing fields of Afghanistan. Terrill, who himself lived and trained with the rookie Marines of 924 Troop, records eight months of gruelling training and then shows first hand how it is put into practice in war-torn Afghanistan.

Bone-crunching excitement
'Commando - On The Front Line' (2007) Was without doubt an excellent choice. Covering the first days of training through to active battle this truly shows how hard our forces have to work. As you go through each episode you can see the training and pain each recruit goes through.
Forget the politics of war and admire the dedication to get to front line battle. If you are looking for something that will leave you wanting to watch all these episodes in one sitting then this is the one to get.
Gritty and determined are the traits of Royal Marine Commandos - shown clearly here in training and in War. Any up and coming commando would gain a valuable insight into the ardous training regime that produces top fighting soldiers. Enjoyable and sometimes humerous - watch it.
