All that matters to me now is Jenny

Don't be fooled by the bloodshed of this movie; the abiding message of Commando is that love- not stomach-turning violence- is the most powerful force on earth. The scores upon scores of evil henchmen to which Arnie lays waste are merely sacrifices, laid down on an alter of love for his daughter, his dear Jenny.

Mark L. Lester was fortunate to have such an emotionally honest actor as Mr Schwarzenegger, though acting seems an inadequate term for what really amounts to a vivisection of the human heart in all its stunning complexity. Consistently elegant, occasionally breath-taking, Commando is surely the one truly convincing love-story to emerge from the troubled 20th Century.

    Sheds are a dangerous place

Where to begin, ah I know. After infiltrating the enemy base armed to the teeth, our hero looking for cover hides in a shed! the goons quickly surround the 'stronghold' and let rip with their ak-47's. But this is no ordinary shed, oh no, for inside is all manner of sharp objects and as quick as a flash arnie is out impaling the hired help. This film is genius, from the comedy aussie leather clad bad guy to the guards who love nothing better than running straight into arnie's big gun. They just don't make films like this any more. Bring back the eighties and heroes with names like Matrix, Dutch...etc

Welcome back John, so glad you could make it.

Love him or loathe him, this is the quintessential Arnie movie. Big on guns, explosions, chainmail vests and repressed homosexuality, small on brains; Commando is almost the perfect action movie. They don't make 'em like this anymore, more's the pity. A genre classic that both Arnie nuts and action nuts will love. Everyone else should probably think twice.

    TV Edit?

I love Commando!! Senseless 80's mayhem, bad acting, bad editing, bad just about everything apart from the action and some classic one liners. Would have gotten 4 stars, but for some reason the DVD contained the TV edit of the movie without any swearing and they had even cut out some of the violence. Apparently it's ok to show hundreds of Mexicans being shot, but its not ok show Arnie breaking his minders neck on the plane.

The box says it's an 18 certificate......

    It LIED!!

    Fantastic Action Movie

If you want a good full action film then this is the one to watch.

Not to give too much away but they want him to do something that he doesn't want to do and for their insurance they kidnap his daughter as they think he will do what they want.....

Great action movie that is really worth watching.

    Commando.

It's one of the first film I ever saw Arnie in, that Terminator, hence early in his acting career, however it's got shed loads of action and adventure, amusing oneliners and I still like watching it.

    Classic

Well what can I say?!?!? This should have been a 5 star rating because this is a total cheese classic revered by many!! but why the hell did they cut a quarter of the film??? surely in this day and age the type of violence from an 80's classic is nothing on most of the films out there nowadays? I mean C'mon it is an 18!! we are aware it is going to be violent why shield us from it? I can't speak for everyone but its half the reason I rented it!! any way moan over!! It is still a superb film watch it and enjoy!! kick ass Arnie at his best!!!

I DON'T NEED THE GUN JOHN!!!!!!!!

This film made Arnie's career and is one of my top 3 favourite films. All out action from beginning to end with classic one liners from Arnold such as 'let's take Cook's car, he won't be needing it anymore. Rent it and marvel at the wonder of John Matrix, then go buy it and wonder at the marvel over and over again.
