All that matters to me now is JennyBy thegrimphantasmfear from London , 19 Mar 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]Don't be fooled by the bloodshed of this movie; the abiding message of Commando is that love- not stomach-turning violence- is the most powerful force on earth. The scores upon scores of evil henchmen to which Arnie lays waste are merely sacrifices, laid down on an alter of love for his daughter, his dear Jenny.
Mark L. Lester was fortunate to have such an emotionally honest actor as Mr Schwarzenegger, though acting seems an inadequate term for what really amounts to a vivisection of the human heart in all its stunning complexity. Consistently elegant, occasionally breath-taking, Commando is surely the one truly convincing love-story to emerge from the troubled 20th Century.

classic 80's nonsense but in a good wayBy Oxoman (18 reviews) , 19 Apr 2013I've loved this film since I first saw it some 23 years ago and watched it again last night. If it was anybody but Arnie playing the lead role then it would be a very average film. I could watch it all day just to see Arnies great one liners!
watch itBy a customer , 12 Oct 2011Had a good storyline, good amount of action and showed the lengths and father would go to rescue his daughter
When one liners ruled the earth...By supersolenoid (18 reviews) , 15 Aug 2011Old school ONe man army stuff here! Absolutely hilarious dialogue in a time when it was ok for almost every line of dialogue to be a corny macho pun one liner.
Its worth watching for the village people style villain and the wonderful scene where Arnie feeds a deer with his daughter, to show the audience that he was living a peceful idyllic life. Seriously, it's THAT good!
So bad it's a classicBy a customer , 10 Jun 2011This film is so bad I actually have a soft spot for it. Everything about it is clunky and implausible, yet that is what makes it so endearing. From ridiculously hammy villains to mustachioed cannon fodder extras this film has it all! Worth a go if you want a good old fashioned braindead action film on a Saturday night.

Its A Good Idea Not To Take The Garbage OutBy Richie77777 (250 reviews) from Essex , 24 May 2011
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideNear the start there are some chessey scenes between John Matrix, (Arnie) and his daughter Jenny.
The film quickly gets moving and Jenny is kidnapped and Arnie has, (as you will see) 11 hours to get her back safely.
Maybe I'm getting old and cynical but Arnie shooting and killing probably one hundred enemy soldiers is quite far stretched, (it makes me think of that scene in Hot Shots Part Deux). Yet that final segment is the best part of the film.
Prior to that Arnie is chasing some dude in what can only be described as a 1985 suit! Those scenes with him and who appears to be his female accomplish are quite boring. The only that sustains some basic interest is Arnie's quips!
