All that matters to me now is Jenny
By thegrimphantasmfear from London , 19 Mar 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
Don't be fooled by the bloodshed of this movie; the abiding message of Commando is that love- not stomach-turning violence- is the most powerful force on earth. The scores upon scores of evil henchmen to which Arnie lays waste are merely sacrifices, laid down on an alter of love for his daughter, his dear Jenny.
Mark L. Lester was fortunate to have such an emotionally honest actor as Mr Schwarzenegger, though acting seems an inadequate term for what really amounts to a vivisection of the human heart in all its stunning complexity. Consistently elegant, occasionally breath-taking, Commando is surely the one truly convincing love-story to emerge from the troubled 20th Century.- Was this review helpful to you?

(49)classic 80's nonsense but in a good way
By Oxoman (18 reviews) , 19 Apr 2013I've loved this film since I first saw it some 23 years ago and watched it again last night. If it was anybody but Arnie playing the lead role then it would be a very average film. I could watch it all day just to see Arnies great one liners!- Was this review helpful to you?

When one liners ruled the earth...
By supersolenoid (18 reviews) , 15 Aug 2011Old school ONe man army stuff here! Absolutely hilarious dialogue in a time when it was ok for almost every line of dialogue to be a corny macho pun one liner.
Its worth watching for the village people style villain and the wonderful scene where Arnie feeds a deer with his daughter, to show the audience that he was living a peceful idyllic life. Seriously, it's THAT good!- Was this review helpful to you?

So bad it's a classic
By a customer , 10 Jun 2011This film is so bad I actually have a soft spot for it. Everything about it is clunky and implausible, yet that is what makes it so endearing. From ridiculously hammy villains to mustachioed cannon fodder extras this film has it all! Worth a go if you want a good old fashioned braindead action film on a Saturday night.- Was this review helpful to you?
