This was a suprise film in the fact that the write up did not sound great but after watching it i thought it was under rated. Ray Liotta puts in a brilliant performance as Lee Ray, a death row inmate spared his execution at the last minute by agreeing to be a test subject for an anti agressive drug that has been developed by Willem Defoe's character. The resulting effect of the drug has suprising consequences and keeps you gripped through the whole film.
Well worth a look!
Scientist saves a murderer from Death Row in order to trial a new drug, which is meant to supress all violence and misdemeneors, to create a 'normal' human being. The film is similar in plot to A Clockwork Orange, but vastly insuperior in every respect.
Control is a typical Hollywood formulaic film, with all of the best 'action' scenes; shoot 'em up, beat 'em up and of course, THE car chase. If you are not bored with this sort of 'action' rent this film. However, if you have not seen A Clockwork Orange, do yourself a favour and rent it!
