According to the newspaper's Andrew Pulver, Knocked Up and Superbad both got full marks during 2007, with both comedies entertaining the masses. Spy thriller The Bourne Ultimatum, which stars Matt Damon, Julia Styles and Albert Finney, scooped the top prize at last night's Sony Ericsson Empire Awards 2008, the movie magazine has confirmed. British movie-lovers bucked Europe-wide trends in 2007 as cinema attendance rose by 3.7 per cent to 162.4 million over the year.
