Like Caroline, but, jumbled up like.By ReviewsEmbargo (16 reviews) from Buckhurst Hill , 16 Feb 2009
[Highly rated reviewer]It is like Nightmare before Christmas meets Beetlejuice without the Charismatic super-lead of either picture.

Unique !By a customer , 14 Aug 2013Coraline never gets boring. I can watch a thousand times, and still be excited to see it again. Coraline is quirky, fun, but still with that hint of creepy. The best part about Coraline is that you can relate to the character. Everyone as a kid wanted better parents, better toys, better everything ect so it's easy to like this film and understand the character.
Great entertainmentBy JonDC71 (5 reviews) , 28 Jul 2013Although it's animated it's still a great movie for adults. Quite a dark and sinister movie along the same vane as Nightmare before Christmas so not for everyone. Loved the characters and the soundtrack and the animation and settings were amazing. Can't understand why it was based in America when it was written by an Englishman and based in the UK but still, a great movie anyway. Would like to see a Coraline 2 !!!!
Good FilmBy Rio1234 (179 reviews) from Barking , 22 Jul 2013Mixed reviews but this film is very good indeed, a bit like the night before christmas and other films I have seen but animation is first class.
Location determined by small minded North AmericansBy a customer , 04 Jul 2013Its a grower - took me two attempts to get through, I stuck with it, it got better. Read the book a while ago and its pretty faithful to it. Very nicely animated. Slight shame its a very traditional US residential setting, could have been more interesting based somewhere else. Especially with it being a UK author. So many films and cartoons are based in the same big detached US houses with white picket fence, it all gets rather samey. A quirky film like this could have been set somewhere a bit more original. Even tho the transformations are very imaginative the context could have been more interesting. But then I suppose many small minded North Americans would not watch it, and it wouldnt make them as much money. They could have had it UK based with one token big name US voice actor - that way small minded North Americans are less confused and more likely to accept the film.
A high quality and deep film - absolutely superbBy davidc475 (30 reviews) , 18 Jun 2013Superb and powerful film, very high quality stop motion with excellent soundtrack and atmosphere, I saw it at the cinema with my 9 year old daughter and although she was a little scared in places, I found it mesmerising. There is a depth to this film - it isn't just visually entertaining. It has some strong images that although are not exactly disturbing for adults, they are impactful and quite potent.
