(11)Country man
By a customer , 26 Sep 2012I've requested this film 9 months ago and I'm still waiting to receive it. What a disappointing service. Still no idea when I'll get it. I'm rating the service not the film.- Was this review helpful to you?

Was beaming for most of the film..
By a customer , 21 Mar 2012I can't recommend this highly enough, full of amazing moments, each different.
The food, the music, the attitudes.
The scenery too is stunning. Also in a round about/sometimes comic way highlights some of the ingrained problems with the jamaican political system.
The dialogue is great, & theres a few sinister moments which caught me by surprise!
All I can say really is I actually watched the making of feature on the extras- VERY rarely does a film earn this effort!- Was this review helpful to you?

Loved this Film
By lollypie75 (119 reviews) from Harlow , 05 Jun 2009The soundtrack is Great..... and I really like the story in regards to Countryman and how he looks at life and the actions he takes.
My favorite bit in the film is when he sits down to eat with the two people he is helping, the food is fresh and beautiful and makes you want to climb into the tv screen and eat the food.- Was this review helpful to you?

Worth a look
By Mattyblade1 (11 reviews) from Carrickfergus , 01 Oct 2008If you into Reggae music and the Jamaican Rastaman then this film is for you.... Although this film was made in 1982 it still held my interest mainly because of the music.
The story and acting was a little weak, but hey it's 1982 and not Hollywood.
Enjoy.- Was this review helpful to you?

Ras Flick
By Natureboy (2 reviews) from Petersfield , 29 May 2008Great for the tunes of the Wailers, Lee Perry, Toots and others
Elements of comedy thrown in sometimes unintentionally, I loved this film as a kid due to the music I was listening to and the sentiment of Countryman. The folklore tradition of Jamaica is worth reading up on.
Not big budget by any stretch of imagination and some of the acting is suss, Mossman is convincing and there is also plenty of Eye spy cameo roles from the Jamaican music scene if you dig Bass Culture.
Gratuitous use of breasts at the beginning of the film in the days when it was par for the course- Was this review helpful to you?
