Couples Retreat

A light, amusing film that is beautiful to watch due to the location and the occasional character. It was perfect for our girls night out.- Was this review helpful to you?

(16)When therapy does more harm than good!
By Gray2 (198 reviews) , 06 Feb 2013Kristin Davis (Sex & The City) joins a lot of other funny people in this story of four couples who go to a special holiday destination. Fortunately, as the four females are a blonde, a brunette, a redhead and a black girl, it's easy to remember who's who even if you're not familiar with all the actresses. One couple goes along wanting marriage counselling, but the other three most certainly do not. Yet they discover this is a mandatory part of the package. Which results in couples who think they have no problems with their relationship, all becoming convinced they do have a problem after all! How will this work out - will they all split up, or swap partners, or what? This 'thriller' element keeps one going, though in fact some very funny scenes help to achieve that anyway, none more so than the counselling sessions. Note: beware the very slow opening, full of Americanisms that are hard to follow; once the couples all arrive at the 'couples' retreat' the action soon hots up!- Was this review helpful to you?

Couple of laughs
By RussnEmma (387 reviews) from London, England , 27 Jun 2012Good idea for a movie and has its good moments. Slow to get going and there is a risk of getting bored before it's really started.
Last half hour is good fun though and as a whole the movie is fun to watch.- Was this review helpful to you?

Actually quite good
By nellhosker (6 reviews) , 05 Sep 2011This film was surprisingly enjoyable. It completely followed the usual layout of a hollywood romcom but the script was very well written and the film had me smiling all the way through. I don't normally like films like this but Couples Retreat was actually quite good.- Was this review helpful to you?
