Ryan Gosling could become a big screen star, so I follow all his films. This one does not disappoint.By roncoach (369 reviews) from suffolk , 10 Jul 2012
[Highly rated reviewer]I didn't have much hopes really for this storyline as outlined in reviews.
But I watched it just to keep up-to-date with the burgeoning career of Ryan Gosling who I think could become a wonderful screen star-----and I have been watching movie stars come and go for over 50 years.
And, actually the film was good, and not just because of the talented Mr Gosling, but also because of its above-average presentation of all the cinematic departments.
Yes, I rate this film as 'Good' and that places it firmly as a 3. 5 star movie. Easy :))))))

Heartwarming and funnyBy GeorgieG (7 reviews) , 25 Nov 2012A heartwarming and funny film. The story is engaging and well acted. I liked it because actually the plot is quite deep even though there is that enjoyable awkward humour about it too.
Great watch!By a customer , 15 Nov 2012A fantastic film. The storyline really sucks you in, and the twist will have you in fits of laughter. Definately a must see film for couples.
Boring, Stupid, FilmBy a customer , 10 Nov 2012If this was suppose to be funny I must have been asleep.
It was all quite sad really, and the only laugh came in the last 10 mins.
What a waste of acting talent.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideIts a good movie, but unfortunately as is the case with comedies such as rom coms it goes on serious trying to make points. - Why does Hollywood do that?!
The film follows Steve Carroll's character as he is told by his wife that she has slept with another man and is seeking a divorce. He is quite the loser and when he is befriended in a local bar by a ladies man he, 'turns,' his life around. - Well initially he thinks so but in the end his true love for his ex wife, (his first and only love) is all he cares about.
The sub plot following his thirteen year old son's love for his seventeen year old babysitter, (who in real life must surely be at least twenty eight) is very well played out.
Its not a bad movie.
Really enjoyed all of itBy a customer , 04 Nov 2012I honestly didn't know anything about this film when I started watching it and was pleasently suprised.
It's not just a soppy chick flick. There's some great comedy moments and some touching sad ones too.
Carrell does a great job acting and not just playing the 'funny guy' and Gosling and Stone are awesome as always. You really connect with all the characters and learn all their stories, and the little twist is brilliant.
I think it's a great film for guys and girls and I would really recommend this film to anyone. I really enjoyed watching it and will probably go out and buy it now.
