[Highly rated reviewer]this dvd series is superb. criminal minds is very much like 'without a trace' and 'CSI', with a different case per episode.
the Behavourial Analysis Unit has a team of experts with unique abilities, headed by a complex, tortured and brilliant older man called Agent Gideon.
Mandy Patinkin plays Agent Gideon, an intense, quiet, but very talented criminal profiler, who puts together physical and psychological descriptions of criminals, by examining the crime scene.
most of the episodes, build up in intensity, until Gideon and his team identify and find the criminal, before he commits another crime, usually of arson, kidnapping or murder.
the episodes can be quite disturbing, as they deal with the worst kind of criminals.
Dr. Reed, who is played by Matthew Gray Gubler is one of my favourites, as although he is a genius in his chosen field, he is not a good communicator with ordinary people. you could say he lacks the social skills. this just goes to show, the human side of a character, as well as their genius.
well worth watching.

criminal minds series 1By a customer from Stockport , 28 May 2008Excellent team of profilers solving murders by serial killers. It has a continuing theme, running through each episode. of a killer they call Jack who is obsessed by one of the profilers Samantha. This makes it different together with the fact that each character has been given an interesting personality.
Unbelievably banalBy a customer from Ayrshire , 29 Apr 2008This is one of the most risible of recent USA imports. How your contributors could possibly give this piece of nonsense five stars is beyond belief. To say that the characters are cardboard cutouts is in fact an insult to cardboard. I know that fiction can never really match reality, however, these characters come from another planet, they are constantly using scientific terms and then falling over each other to define them like adolescents trying to show off to their teacher. I felt that I was being very kind giving this drivel two stars.

Great SeriesBy a customer from Midlothian, Scotland , 30 Oct 2007We thought we had seen a few episodes on the TV but turns out we had only seen 4 of the complete first series. Can't wait to see series 2 as we are left with a cliffhanger.
Not as good as CSI (Vegas) but for a first series I think it could become as good as!!!
