Superb................................
By a customer from gwaenysgor , 16 Jan 2009[Highly rated reviewer]
this dvd third series is superb. criminal minds is very much like 'without a trace' and 'CSI', with a different case per episode.
the Behavourial Analysis Unit has a team of experts with unique abilities, headed by Agent David Rossi and Agent Aaron Hotchner.
Joe Mantegna pays Agent David Rossi who replaces Mandy Patinkin. David was in early retirement until his voluntary return to the BAU. He had retired in order to go on lecture and book tours but returned to settle some unfinished business which isn't immediately specified.
Also Nicholas Brendon (Xander in Buffy The Vampire Slayer) returns to our screens as Computer Tech Kevin Lynch who becomes the love interest of Agent Penelope Garcia.
most of the episodes, build up in intensity, until Rossi and Hotch and the team identify and find the criminal, before he commits another crime, usually of arson, kidnapping or murder.
the episodes can be quite disturbing, as they deal with the worst kind of criminals.
Dr. Reed, who is played by Matthew Gray Gubler is one of my favourites, as although he is a genius in his chosen field, he is not a good communicator with ordinary people. you could say he lacks the social skills. this just goes to show, the human side of a character, as well as their genius.
well worth watching.- Was this review helpful to you?

(11)Thought provoking!!!
By martini61 (1 review) , 24 Apr 2013This series is absolutely brilliant and I love the way they are now letting us into the lives of each character as well. Although similar to the CSI series they are forensics of the evidence, this is profiling the criminals so between the two you get to see how the crimes are solved.- Was this review helpful to you?

A Realistic Gritty Series
By LondonSpeakerHire (1 review) from London , 09 Apr 2010If you've not watched Criminal Minds then you've missed one of the best series produced. Unlike CSI, NCIS etc, this is more gritty and realistic.
You really do need to watch the series from season 1 in order to get the full story and character development.
As on one of the other reviews, this isn't a program for the faint hearted as it deals with murders and serial killers.- Was this review helpful to you?
