One of the best games on the Xbox
By a customer from Scotland , 04 Jul 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
There is a reason this game constantly surfaces on Top 10 lists for websites such as GameSpot & Eurogamer. The setting, pace, action and gameplay are all near-perfection.
This game does right what Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow failed so utterly at (in fact the story and setting were lifted almost whole-sale from this game, giant robots and all): It makes the 1930s vision of the future compelling instead of wasting it with hammy acting and boring action.
The flying is visceral and real, and whenever one feels the urge one can click in a thumstick and do one of seven genuinely exciting meneuvres. Clicking and pushing the sticks in opposite directions, for examlple, stops you in your tracks and points your nose skyward. Use this to jet into the heavens, or click a second time and suddenly cut your engines, aiming your prow straight at the ground and re-igniting your boost. Great for taking a battle over the New York skyline onto the streets.
This is one of those few games that everyone should play. The emulation on Xbox 360 is flawless and so, if you haven't had a chance to play it but have Microsoft's next generation console, ORDER IT. You will not be disapointed. Don't worry about it looking dated or playing like an 'old' game, the controls are fresh and active and the 360 can upscale the graphics to 720p.- Was this review helpful to you?

Great fun game
By Gareth Davies from Rochdale , 28 Jun 2007This is a fun game that plays similairly to the star wars rogue leader/squadron games. The controls are great and the story is quite good too. Definitley worth a rental.- Was this review helpful to you?
