It appears that all the imagination went into creating the premise for CRY WOLF because none has been reserved for the actual story.
The plot bumbles along untidily, the characters are cardboard and give the viewer no real reason to care whether they live or die - even the main character Owen.
The plot unfolds in an extremely boring and predictable way with murders that seemed forced in with little or no satisfactory build up.
The killer is neither scary nor clever and seems to lack motivation and kill without purpose or conviction. He isn't even excessively brutal!
By the time the twist (which really isn't much of a twist) kicks in, the viewer has lost all interest and couldn't careless.
Overall the film could've done with a much better script. A similar film for comparison is 'Valentine' a film that CRY WOLF could have been with a a lot more passion and a slightly bigger budget. However, the small budget does not excuse the lack of creativity that pervades the film.
I can't express how weak this film is - dull, boring, tiring to watch...
...And I'm not just crying wolf.
