Be careful what you wish for

I was in two minds to begin with, to whether I should put this dvd onto my rental list. Now, after watching it through, I am very glad I came across this film.

It is about a boy named Owen who has just moved to Westlake Prep. after his bad behaviour in his previous school. Soon before arriving, Owen finds himself among a group of people who attend the unofficial 'liars club'. When they decide to spread an online rumour that a serial killer called 'the wolf' commited the recent murder of a girl, Owen is first to create the spoof e-mail. However, strange happenings occur which leads Owen into thinking his story may actually come true and his life is in danger..

A thrilling, heart-pumping film from start to finish, superb movie! Recommended, ignore the bad reviews.

    An entertaining film

Cry_Wolf is an entertaining film with an interesting idea, but has a basic script and average acting (Lindy Booth is the highlight of an under-used and un-tested cast, with Gary Cole really going to waste with the small role he is given), it is predictable for the most part, you know how each of the characters are going to die about 20-minutes into the film, the final plot twist and explanation is somewhat weak, and on the whole the film maybe tries to be too clever. It is about as good (and bloody) as you would expect from a 12A teen-slasher horror film, and is not all that bad for the limited budget and small cast used. In the end Cry_Wolf is an above average 12A horror film, which shows promise and ambition if nothing else. Reminded me at times of Gossip.

Much better than the average teen slasher!

There is more to this film than you might expect and it's all the better for it.

It has much more plot than you would think and has a certain intelligence about it.

It's diffilcult to expalin without giving anything away, but this flim is definately worth watching.

    Horror? Sure...file with Bambi.

How could any respectable horror fan possibly like this? Cry_Wolf is devoid of any real tension, is far too subtle in its usage of horror elements and just feels generally weak in virtually every aspect except two: acting and camera-work. The film is blessed with strong, diverse actors, in a setting bathed in rich colours. However, none of this matters if you can't create something worthwhile.

Cry_Wolf is practically bloodless, souless and tries way too hard with a twist ending that really packs no punches. Avoid.

    Well done

Not normally a fan of teen thrillers they usually are predictable with a rubbish plot and bad acting, but hats off to all concerned here an original story that keeps you interested all the way through, you never truly know until the end just who is manipulating who.

Fine twists-just when you think its sorted, and the acting not to bad, all in all recommended.

    PASSED THE TIME

Much the same teen college thriller, based on the guess who is doing it theme, and am sure you will guess who is doing it. Ever twist and turn you see before so as far as a thriller it fails but it did pass the time.

    Cry Wolf.

Eight unsuspecting high school seniors at a posh boarding school, who delight themselves on playing games of lies, come face-to-face with terror and learn that nobody believes a liar - even when they're telling the truth. Some twists and turns, thrills and blood spills, exciting and seating on the edge of your seat stuff waiting for the next scare.

Can you guess who did it

Anyone who likes film's that keep you on the edge of your seat and guessing to who did it will love this.

Jon Bon Jovi (big fan) plays an excellent part as a teacher who is having an affair with a student who is then murdered, But who killed her? everything points to the teacher did he do it?

Brilliant storyline, with plenty of twists..

The only downside to this film is that some of the acting is a little wooden hence only 3 stars.

But would reccomend just for the storyline.
