    [Highly rated reviewer]

One of the criticism's of cube 2 that I often hear (other than "what's going on?") is that it was too similar to the first one. And so is this one. It is very similar to the first, even more so than hypercube. This is no bad thing though, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I imagine this will be the last of the cube films, and it is a fitting epitaph. The questions are largely answered, and keeping in tradition, new twists are revealed as they advance through the death maze.

Downsides? Still a few things remain unanswered and the question presents itself...If 1 cube seems to kill people quickly and efficiently, why build (at least) three?

Still, this is some great (but gruesome) entertainment, enjoyable for a saturday night in.

Have to agree with other reviewers you need

to have watched one of the other cube films

to understand the theme of these films.

That said the storyline is good even if some

of the acting was a bit suspect.

    Still worth a watch though.

absolute tosh never seen such awful acting in my life.

I can't say anymore than that, it's got to be one of the worst film's I've seen and believe me when I say I've seen my fare share.

    avoid like the plague.......

This film ties in nicely with the other Cube films, but I rather think that you need to watch at least one of the other ones first before this one or some of it may be a bit confusing.

I was hoping that it would answer a lot of the questions left open by the other Cube films, but in this respect it failed miserably. At the end of the film, the mystery of the Cube is still just that - a mystery. Perhaps that was always the intention.

The acting was very poor and overdone on occassions. Unlike the other Cube films, with one exception, the deaths were below parr.

In summary, the film was below what I had expected/hoped for, but was still an ok film to watch. If not for the comments above, I may have given it 3 stars.

  • Excellent prequel

This prequel to Cube is almost as good as the original. The characters are believable and well developed and despite the fact that I had already seen Cube and Cube 2 earlier the same day it was still original enough to keep me interested. It is a little more camp than the original but more gory and just as sinister.

The twist at the end will delight any fans of the original.
