"...Easily one of the smartest, funniest sitcoms ever made..."
"...As close to perfection as television comedy gets..."
This was so not what I was expecting. Very un-funny - I turned it off 15 mins into the first episode.
This dvd is a real treat for me, why this series has never been shown on terristial T.V.is beyond me, considering some of the rubbish we are shown.
I see in Larry Davids Character, a touch of David Brent, sometimes even a touch of Basil Fawlty, definite touch of Victor Meldrew, and a touch of my wife, Barbara, who you will not know.
I love his supporting cast, his managers foul mouth wife is particularly endering.
The cameos from U.S. stars are great to, Ted Danson, Mel Brooks, Ross from friends, and Ben stiller all appear in later series, hillarious.
Watch how Larry accidently injures the famous basketball player Shaqir O Niel.
I advise people not to watch more than 2 episodes at once, just in case you start acting a bit strange, or perhaps that is just my problem.
No political correctness from Larry, but never racist, just funny.
enjoy

Curb is quite simply the funniest, most well written piece of observational comedy of the last decade. If you have already seen episodes you will know exactly what i mean.....if you havent rent at once and prepare to wet yourself! have fun and get this NOW!
After establishing its innovative format and ensemble of characters in the first series, Curb Your Enthusiasm is even funnier - and occasionally harder to watch - in series two.
Larry David's depiction of a misanthropic Larry David is both excruciating and excellent but it is the supporting cast, led by Jeff Garlin as Larry's sidekick and agent, who come into their own. The lack of script and the comedy mileage in the already-established relationships allow the cast to play brilliantly off Larry and each other.
Fans of Seinfeld won't automatically like this, or vice versa, but it's definitely worth persevering with.
Considering this highly funny series is all improv, its a delight.. The way the actors interact is brilliant. Anyone who hasn't yet seen this jewel, you wont be disappointed.

I decided to rent seasons 1 to 3 out after catching a little bit of the program on BBC4 late on Thursday, I was hooked after one show.
The programme has no script and is all Improv, the storylines situations are not unlike Larry Davids previous shows Seinfeld ( which I love ) but the way its filmed and without the script, it comes off differently then anything else on TV.
I love everything about this show as its pure adult humour, I havent laughed so loudly in a while.
Not recommended to everyone but at least give it a try.

This is way better than the first series! I have only had one disc and every episode was "laugh-out-loud" worthy!
Having never seen a single episode of Seinfeld I was unsure what I'd make of this series. I've heard so many good things about it, so I thought I'd give it a go, and I wasn't disappointed.
Larry David is simply one of the funniest men I have ever seen on the small screen. American comedy is a little hit and miss for me, I either get the comedy and love it, or have no idea what people are laughing at, and hate it. Thankfully, Curb Your Enthusiasm falls into the first camp.
The whole scenario is inspired, the supporting cast are wonderful, and almost every episode is laugh-out-loud funny. Yes, there are also scenes when you squirm with embarrasment on behalf of Larry, but it all adds to the fun, and over the episodes, you start to feel real affection for this... character.
I have only watched the first 2 seasons so far, and can't wait to start on the 3rd, and I would have no hesitation in recommending this series to anyone. Give it a try, You'll either love it or hate it, and if you love it, then you've found a series you can repeatedly enjoy for the rest of your life.
5/5

You don't see this type of comedy show. Most of it is improvised - with the plots pre-determined. The show is extremely funny. However, I often feel that certain situations/scenes could benefit from a script. There are occasions where an extremely funny scenario arises and you're just waiting for someone to say something cutting or funny and it doesn't happen.
Mind you, even with that critisism, the show is still hilarious due to the clever plots, and these just seem to get better with each series.
The second season of this series sees Larry David continuing his lonely crusade against Lala land and its politically correct humourlessness. The setups are getting a little familiar but this is still very funny stuff in the style of 'The Office'.
