THE
By Jas Sidhu from Isleworth, England , 09 Mar 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
Already into it's 3rd series and 'Curb' is quickly establishing cult status. Each episode is a gem with Seinfeld co-creator Larry David finding himself in darkly hilarious and often ridiculous situations. These include: trying to move his mother's grave and getting embroiled with the gangster rapper Krazee Eyez Killa.
Much of the appeal lies with the improv like nature of the character interplay. Indeed, the extras section highlights that many scenes were developed on the spot.
Thankfully this does not have the usual canned laughter and is in a different stratosphere compared to other inane US 'comedies' such as Friends etc.
By releasing this through HBO, Larry David has ensured that his vision has stayed true to the depravities of his twisted imagination. This series does not pander to the masses. All you Friends fans should steer clear and stick with your cappuccinos and hair obsessions!
The 3rd series contains cameos from (amongst others)Martin Scorsese. In fact the last episode 'The Grand Opening' has unquestionably the best ending ever.
Like it's UK equivalent 'The Office', Curb is a magnificent piece of work that still makes you laugh/wince after many repeated viewings.- Was this review helpful to you?

(35)Brilliant as Ever
By MaxVIII (17 reviews) from Glossop , 30 Sep 2009I still can't get over the fact that I missed this completely when it was aired on TV. It must be up there with Ricky Gervais as some of the cleverest comedy written and performed. The final episode has got to have the best ending to any comedy I have ever seen. I'm still chuckling a week later!- Was this review helpful to you?

Pure Comedy Gold!
By a customer from West Yorkshire, England , 16 Sep 2009I know it's a cliche but I really did laugh out loud when watching the exploits of Larry, Cheryl, Jeff et al. It is brilliantly written and acted. I'm hooked! Can't wait for the next series.- Was this review helpful to you?

Elements can get tiresome
By a customer from London , 21 Aug 2009While I do enjoy the show, the improv element can become tiresome. Larry's 'wife' tends to wait to see where Larry is going with a joke, which unfortunately makes the character seem a little stupid or slow, while Larry's friend's technique is to repeat whatever Larry says to him, marking time until an idea for a next line occurs. That said it is still a successfully funny series. I just suggest you dont watch the episodes back to back or the tiresome elements can build up to overload.- Was this review helpful to you?

The best comedy in the world
By Wickywoo (27 reviews) from Selkirk , 03 Mar 2009I adore Curb Your Enthusiam! I am making my way through all of the series and never get disappointed by any episodes. Larry David is amazing as are the supporting main cast. The fact it is loosly scripted and improvised makes it even more entertaining. However bad a day I may have, Curb will brighten it up and make me realise how ridiculous some of the things we get worked up about ona day to day basis are. You can feel his infuriation at everyday things like lack of manners, political correctness etc and cringe both at him and with him.
Curb your Enthusiasm..the best comedy known to man (and woman!)- Was this review helpful to you?
