    Already into it's 3rd series and 'Curb' is quickly establishing cult status. Each episode is a gem with Seinfeld co-creator Larry David finding himself in darkly hilarious and often ridiculous situations. These include: trying to move his mother's grave and getting embroiled with the gangster rapper Krazee Eyez Killa.

    Much of the appeal lies with the improv like nature of the character interplay. Indeed, the extras section highlights that many scenes were developed on the spot.

    Thankfully this does not have the usual canned laughter and is in a different stratosphere compared to other inane US 'comedies' such as Friends etc.

    By releasing this through HBO, Larry David has ensured that his vision has stayed true to the depravities of his twisted imagination. This series does not pander to the masses. All you Friends fans should steer clear and stick with your cappuccinos and hair obsessions!

    The 3rd series contains cameos from (amongst others)Martin Scorsese. In fact the last episode 'The Grand Opening' has unquestionably the best ending ever.

    Like it's UK equivalent 'The Office', Curb is a magnificent piece of work that still makes you laugh/wince after many repeated viewings.

    Larry David is King

    If you haven’t discovered ‘Curb the Enthusiasm’ yet, you have missed a totally unique show.

    It is written by Seinfeld co-creator Larry David who brings a distinctive style to the sitcom world. The show has a feel of a documentary with the use of handheld cameras and some rather colourful language.

    Larry David stars as well as writes the show and what makes this show so different is that for each episode he writes a tightly plotted story but without dialogue and then the actors adlib and improvise within the confines of the story bringing results of total originality and freshness.

    It is certainly not a show for everyone but it is rapidly becoming a cult classic with each repeat viewing still causing me to laugh out loud and cringe with dismay in equal measures.

    I would say it is a TV show best seen in sequence as in the end of each series there are subtle references to previous episodes from that series.

    In fact the last episode of series 3 'The Grand Opening' has the best ending ever so far, so if you are not easily offended and are looking for a show that is innovative and very funny then check out ‘curb’.
