If you're a fan of Japanese horror then you will love this. It's full of the typical creepy spine-tingling random stuff the Japanese are so good at. However if you're looking for a nice plot-based structured movie with a beginning a middle & an end , or if you're the type of person who thinks 'this film's rubbish, it's got subtitles', then this lovely piece of japanese cinema history will be wasted on you.
This low-budget japanese horror is nicley done, opening with a 'final destination hit by a bus' scene (with dodgy cgi special effects) it seemed a little stupid to begin with, and fine, the plot is similar to 'the grudge'-you go in this market and you die, but there are quite a few cool scenes in the movie, even if the film isn't very focussed on the main character, And i know! long black haired 'sadako' looking girls are common now, but have you ever seen one climb out of a fridge? By far this movie is worth watching for the scene where a psycho with a sledge hammer chases down a 'cursed market shopper' Its not a PERFECT film but it is VERY watchable if your an asian horror lover. And to say the UK company that have released this DVD usually specialises in 'sex-horror' and 'gross out-horrors' like the ever famous, but sadly perverted dvd 'faces of death'. It seems finally the company have released a film that is actually quite good.
