Worst Film Ever Made
By a customer from Leeds, England , 22 Jul 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
Closely followed by Harlin's other debacle, Deep Blue Sea, this is possibly the worst film ever made. Geena Davis's timbers are not so much shivered as deep-frozen, so stiff and wooden is her acting in this. She was married to Harlin at the time - this film probably prompted the divorce.
Two hours of my life I'll never get back.- Was this review helpful to you?

(18)Bit boring
By gianino (618 reviews) from London , 16 Apr 2012I know it's old but it's also very boring. I usually like Matthew Modine & Geena Davis but not in this poor cheap flat movie. Not much happening and very flat all the way through- Was this review helpful to you?

Great fun!
By AlanReid (11 reviews) from Edinburgh , 08 Jul 2010Some swash-buckling escapism. Plenty of action and adventures, great fun for all the family. I would highly recommend this.- Was this review helpful to you?

Mmmm Geena Davis!
By Fugazi (35 reviews) from Hitchin , 30 Sep 2009This is a great film that I bizarrely missed the first time round. It is a great swashbuckling action adventure comedy. Thoroughly enjoyable escapism.- Was this review helpful to you?

Kids loved it alst as much as Pirates of the Caribbean
By hayesey (2 reviews) from York , 01 May 2009A bit cheesy and the effects are outdated.. You can see where the storyline for Pirates of the Carribean came from - transparently clear even to my 9 year old. The kids really enjoyed it and that it was a close 2nd Pirates which it one of their favourites. Other reveiwers are perhaps looking at it from an adult perspective when in fact it is good swash-buckling fun. Just watch out for a few jokes with innuendo!- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer from Colchester , 21 Dec 2008i was looking forward to seeing this film, but felt let down and disappointed in what i got. fast paced, extremely cheesy, an ok movie to pass an evening if nothing else is on.- Was this review helpful to you?
