A slick, sly and mostly successful doc by two film students who decide to test the greed and gullibility of their... read more on Time Out
Hilarious and fascinating... Painfully, shamefully funny
This docu-film is superb! i needn't say anymore.... but i will! The two students who set up this 'scam' hadn't really thought about the consequences of their actions and despite people left right and centre telling them this is morally wrong, they continue anyway! the big difference between this and other docu-films is that nearly always the prankster ends up as the winner! it is debatable as to whether or not this is the case. I won't spoil anything but the ending made the film great in my opinion! the parallels made between the government of the czech republic and these two budding film makers is hilarious and the film making is superb, giving an insight into czech culture as well as building the momentum of the story / event! i am not usually a fan of this type of film, however a movie magazine i buy, said that this is 'a film you should see before you die!' i agree! See it and you'll understand what i mean! riveting stuff!
great concept .. let's expose (western?) consumer greed .. great ad campaign but who got humiliated in the end .... the old, the poor, the stupid ... So the doc maker boys missed the real target , the nouveau riche or whatever they're called. Open a fake car showroom , Ipod shop or poncey restaurant and really get people thinking
