...laugh-out-loud funny...
I have to admit, I really enjoyed this film. It's a tongue-in-cheek parody of the Charlie's Angels format with good laughs, yet it breaks away from that formula in interesting ways.
First of all, it's pretty racy as far as the revealing uniforms are concerned, so much so it takes you off guard at first.
However, what really shocked me was the well written lesbian love story. At first I reacted in typical guy fashion of: 'Alright! Two chicks going at it', but as you watch the story develop you sense something you don't often see in parody flicks. There's real chemistry here.
I don't know if it was great directing or acting, probably a combination of both, but there were some genuine emotional moments between the two love torn characters -- they were really connecting. It wasn't just a sex thing, but more a real substance, to the point where I found myself rooting for them to finally get together. You'll have to see the movie to find out.
Jimmi Simpson should be mentioned here. I swear I've seen him before, but can't remember where. Point is, his comic timing was flawless and there wasn't a line I didn't laugh on. Maybe I just liked his character? or maybe we're going to see a lot more of him in the future.
All in all, it's a fun flick -- you'll enjoy it.
Nice frothy light-hearted romp with great long legs. Quirky lesbian angle but the film maintains an innocence in presentation. Perfect chick flick that the guys can also enjoy if you don't take it too seriously. Good antidote to the grief in the world these days.
D.E.B.S. Is loads of fun. It instills from the first frame that you shouldn't take this film seriously and that it is very much a parody of the spy genre.
Even though this is like many other lesbian films in that it conveys a character questioning her sexuality, her relationship with the woman doesn't start at the end of the film. It's great that we get to see the relationship throughout the film and that this is the main emphasis of the narrative. It's good that the film shows provocative girl spies that have intelligence aswell, even the character who is defined as "the dopey one" shows her worth and that she is more than capable of doing her job.
Ok the film is very cheesey and it is predictable but this is all part of this films charm. It is a film that you can repeatedly watch and not get bored with. Infact it makes the whole idea of being a super spy exciting!
just ignore all the sad people above who have slagged off this movie, they wouldn't know a fun movie if it slapped them in the face! this is a hugely entertaining movie with very sexy girls (lovely legs on all of them!) and great action sequences. nothing too serious just a good fun spy type movie.. and as for getting all upset about two girls getting it on... wake up this is the 21st century!!
chick flick one for the kids

loved this movie so much i went out and bought it! very real chemistry between the 2 lesbian characters and OH MY GOD jordana brewster is the hottest female in the world!
I wasn't sure what to expect with this movie, but its certainly one of a kind. At times silly and unrealistic, you have to be able to see the funny side. Four very attractive girls in a catholic schoolgirl-like outfit with short skirts including a lesbian relationship...you might expect this is made soley for men. But the rating isn't 18 and that's what makes this film so different. This isn't softcore porn. It doesn't show the ups and downs of a gay relationship. It doesn't make you think. It just is. It's fun and light hearted. If you're after something profound with Oscar-winning performances and an intricate plot, you're looking in the wrong place. But for a light-hearted low-budget 'Charlie's Angels' style movie, you might just enjoy this.
Rubbish all the way. I would expect this silly laddish movie with lesbian content to have a higher certificate - 15 at least. Would not dream of letting my 13 year old see this. For heaven's sake why are we condoning movies like this on one hand and on the other, moaning about how quickly our young teenage daughters are being forced to grow up. Don't you just love the on/off switch!!!!
Message portrayed was put very dissappointing! Homosexualality, why?
I dont know why anyone would give this movie a bad rating. Its what we have been waiting for. The story line is quirky but wonderful, the actors/resses are funny and gorgeous, and basically this is an all over funny movie. I mean, come on, stop being so damn serious people, Its no epic life altering experience, but it was definately worth a second viewing. Well done to all involved in finally creating something great for us :)
I obviously did not see the same film as other people. This film was awful!! So much so I am taking the time to warn others of it. Forget the comments about tartan chic and lesbian blah blah.
This film is just poor despite the second lead of Lucy Diamond being pretty sexy and almost worth the time of watching the dvd, Please note the use of almost!!
Put simply this is second rate and not worth the electricity that your dvd player will use yet alone tv.
Just leave well alone.
I made a mistake why should you!!!!!
This was, in general, the perfect way to spend a chilled out Sunday night - nothing that required any thought whatsoever, some clever action, gadgets and fight scenes and some gorgeous stars.
The plot is distinctly gentle, but good fun and is nowhere near as salacious as some reviews (including the dvd blurb) would have you imagine.
The acting itself was a little dodgy in places but nothing the young stars can't grow out of - several people in this films could well develop very good careers from here!
One worth a look, even if it doesn't look like your sort of thing on first glance.
