Daft Plot
By EdwardTheGreat from London , 20 Nov 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
Discovery - an awesome album! One of the best, but what happened to the film? I'm not saying don't rent this - do rent it, but don't expect anything other than an obvious story with a cop-out ending. In fact, maybe my expectation was too high!
Visually impressive and obviously has a great soundtrack but not really any good if you want to sit down and watch a film.- Was this review helpful to you?

(21)Discover the Stellar
By Carona83 (2 reviews) , 24 Nov 2011Is it a movie or an extended music video? Interstellar 5555 matches the music and animation beautifully, intertwining the narrative between visual and audio. The album 'Discovery' is a masterpiece in its own right and this movie extends Daft Punk's vision. Must watch for any Japanese animation or Daft Punk fan!- Was this review helpful to you?

Non-event
By Beedark (4 reviews) from Perth , 14 Jun 2008Be advised this isn't a film with any dialogue whatsoever. Quite compelling imagery and storyline but the entire soundtrack is just the 'Discovery' album with very infrequent and inconsistent sound effects thrown in... The music doesn't particularly follow or illustrate the story that's being animated and I found it really offputting especially as I've listened to the album so much I know it inside out. Felt like a big let down.- Was this review helpful to you?
