Oh Yes! My Name is Drake...

Another 8 quick-fire episodes of the cult 60's TV Show. Patrick McGoohan is centre stage again, completing dangerous missions with his usual brand of dry wit, icy charm and ready fists.

In this set of shows we get introduced to his sometime chief Mr Hardy, played with a cold reserve by Richard Wattis, more familiar in comedy roles such as 'Sykes'. The chemistry between the two provides some of the series' best moments and led to more frequent appearances by Wattis. Elsewhere the guests casts feature many familiar British faces; Patrick Troughton, Warren Mitchell, Lois Maxwell, John Le Mesurier (as a killer!), Fenella Fielding and Charles Gray.

Particular mention must be made of Donald Pleasance whose performance as a meek filing clerk in 'An Affair of State' is note perfect. Peter Swannick, later a regular on 'The Prisoner' also makes a brief appearance. Behind the scences the main man was Ralph Smart who devised the show, produced it and co-wrote some of the episodes. Another writer was Brian Clemens, who became famous with 'The Avengers' & 'Thriller' in the 70s.
