I remember watching this series as a kid in the 70s and even then being enthralled. It is a superb piece of TV combining great acting and characters with acurate historical detail. The bonus disc contains actual training films from the period and in one in particular you half expect Harry Enfields Mr Chulmendly-Warner to make an appearance.Absolute magic for anyone with an interest in WW2 history
This series is now around 20 years old. Despite being an ITV production it really is a quality period drama. Anthony Andrews is superbly cast!
