Experimental years
By a customer from Leicester , 04 Feb 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
The film portrays a brief, but influential spell in the High School years of three diverse students; Alexa, Ben and Johnny, whose lives are fused together in their experimental adolescence. Alexa is an intelligent, virtuous and high achieving student. However, she has never learned the feeling of failure, or how it can galvanise. Friendless, geeky, mothered and sexually unsure and inexperienced, go some way in describing Ben. Johnny on the other hand, has wealth and popularity, but is lonely, isolated, insecure and somewhat mentally unstable. The story culminates them reaching adulthood and deciding which paths their futures will take, having deviated from their safe options and explored alternatives in the interim. I'm not a fan of American high school films per se, but it kept my attention, with a view to the wider themes.- Was this review helpful to you?

A Big Yawn
By OscarFreak (417 reviews) from London , 18 Aug 2011I had a feeling this film might become predictable but I did not expect it to be so boring as well. The acting was rudimentary likewise the direction. The script could have saved the film but in the end it lead to its downfall by being so shallow.- Was this review helpful to you?

A little more thought...
By Squarecityboy (35 reviews) from Birmingham , 27 Mar 2011The movie starts off really well and I had high hopes for it. Well acted and well written. But then it kind of forgets to explore/explain things in the middle and then rushes to the end and leaves you with a couple (not even one!) 'oh, is that it?' moments. Another 20 minutes and a little more thought and it could have been great.- Was this review helpful to you?
