vampire fun!By a customer , 13 May 2012
[Highly rated reviewer]I loved it!! I think cheesy is the whole point and doesn't always mean negative. Johnny Depp is marvellous and there are lots of laughs. Some subtle humour too all wrapped up in Tim Burton's signature style and quirkiness! A genuine auteur.

Shadows of comedyBy film42 (6 reviews) from Dinas Powys , 15 Jan 2013As with most American comedies, they have all the best writers on TV. I never understand how an entire series on the tele can be spot on, where as the movies can't make the laughs last for a mere 90 minutes. I'm not saying its a bad film, its a reasonable romp and has a couple of cracking moments. Depp is having a ball with his outfit, but you need more. Does nobody see it sag in the edit? Comedy needs to keep you involved, but this just seems to amble along. I was surprised that Roger is so overlooked. A couple of glimpses at the cad he might be, but never followed through, such a waste and there was certainly room for more situations. Still it was not a wasted evening... I just expect a bit more.
Oh, Tim. Mr Burton. You are becoming a parody of yourself.By HarryWilding (38 reviews) , 15 Jan 2013Visually lovely, Dark Shadows is, nonetheless, almost too Tim Burton-esque. Because I am such a fan of the mans work, I was halfway through the film before my mind let me admit to itself that this is a rather boring affair, with most of its humour being paint by numbers and, well, not humourous. With a rushed story, an uncharacteristic bad performance from Chloe Grace Moretz and a general lack of interesting ideas, it is hard to believe how such a visually rich feature could have been made so bland.
Depp and Burton still have what it takes!By a customer , 14 Jan 2013I loved it-Depp still has it! Some very subtle humour along with some very cheesy ones but thats the whole point-I laughed throughout and would definately watch it again. Tim Burtons signature all over it
Words cannot describeBy a customer , 13 Jan 2013If ever there was a film were the trailer gave a complete misrepresentation of the actual content of a film, then this is it. I can't believe that Jonnny Depp and Tim Burton could have stooped so low as to make this disaster of a film. Story line is lame. Characters amusement is short lived and the over all story is nothing short of a badly told fable. How totally disappointing.
Very good filmBy a customer , 13 Jan 2013Put it in not really expecting much, when we actually read the label, but this was an excellent film - gave us plenty of laughs, along with a brilliant soundtrack. Johnny Depp at his best and a good supporting cast. Definitely recommended.
