    bad plumbing

A cautionary tale about poor plumbing and a poorly supervised child. Ultimately daft.

Just once you wish they didn't take their ghosts so seriously..

Now, as formula horror goes, this has a central conceit which stays true to the Japanese ghost/horror rulebook. Once haunted by that ghost there is no turning back and rarely a happy ending. It has all the trademark winsome desolation when confronted with this reality and the performance are all desperation and heartache. Unfortunately, it is this which also ensures it is very hard to tell films in this genre apart, and this is no exception. Just once how about not taking the ghost so seriously? Makes you long for low brow remakes...
