And soon to remade by the Yanks, in a Ring kind of way, no doubt. Which means all the slow build up, atmosphere and tension will be lost from this cool movie, and replaced with fast action and car chases.

This is a typically Japanese modern horror - the girl is young, has long wet, black hair, and gets wet. There's weird things afoot and mum is slow to realise what we all can guess in the first 10 mins. But hey! That's life in the slow lane.

I really enjoyed this film - the whole sense of foreboding is there and played to perfection.

The Japanese are great at this sort of thing, deliberate direction, very easily paced and low on shock, so when it comes it has a real impact.

Turn the lights out, wait for a rainstorm (i.e. any day at the moment), and count the thrills.
