The world of the computer/mobile phone cameras/satnav is all the poorer for not having Dave Allen to comment on it. What a field day he would have had with modern technology. But just to listen to his lilting Irish tones and dream nostalgically of a simpler world which still caused him so much angst and us so much joy in its telling - is bliss.
